Study abroad program is one of the most exciting parts of being a student. It offers a new approach to learning a lot of things in a foreign country.

Studying abroad is one of the most common summer study program that took many college students. A number of colleges and universities around the world offer such programs for foreign students. This gives students the opportunity to continue their education in other countries. Other students who have high academic subjects to study in a particular country in which they can have hands on experience. With this, they may be able to apply their knowledge in practice. Basically, one of the most common reasons for students to study abroad is to learn different languages. Many believe that to learn a language effectively, one must immerse in an environment where the language is spoken. In the U.S. that mandates under the Higher Education Act of 1965 states that students can receive financial aid for study abroad if they are enrolled in a program approved by their home institution. Under the Act, financial assistance to cover reasonable costs for a study abroad, which include:

? Living expenses during the program
? Passport and visa fees
? Health insurance

To qualify for public aid, the student must secure and complete the Federal Republic of Application for Student Aid (FAFSA). The funds allocated by the U.S. Department of Education.

Here are the criteria for U.S. government support:

? The student must be enrolled in an eligible home institution as an official student in search of a certificate or undergraduate degree.

? Must be a U.S. citizen who has a legitimate Social Security number

? Must have GED or General Education Development certificate or a baccalaureate

? Male students must be hired for the Selective Service

? Must present the result of partial or full eligibility on drug-related conviction of free application for FAFSA

Summer study abroad is a remarkable break for students to discover a new environment with a new perspective and insights. It is a challenge to experience independence and exposure to people with opposing views, too. Similarly, the opportunity to study abroad suggests a great advantage when applying for a job as this will show your potential employer that you have the necessary independence and motivation.
