    宝岛(bao dao) doesn’t really mean baby island
    it’s more like treasure island or something
    like that

    good work. all your episodes have been interesting thus far, and this one especially insightful concerning chinese people’s blithe assumptions about foreigners and themselves. one note though – 有意思 doesn’t literally translate to having “meaning.” rather, the phrase means “interesting,” so the girl on the train is saying she thinks china is more interesting than other countries… instead of more meaningful.
